NYPD's Hells Angels Raid May Lead to Lawsuit

As we all expected, the Hells Angels member who was arrested during a police raid of the motorcycle gang's headquarters plans to sue the city. The police were investigating the beating of a 52 year old woman found on the sidewalk outside the Hells Angels' location on East 3rd Street in the East Village. The police prepared to raid the establishment and brought out snipers, a hostage negotiation truck, and more, and arrested Richard West in the process.

West was not charged (lack of evidence) and was later released, but now Ron Kuby, lawyer for Hells Angels, says, "He will be filing a federal civil rights action for false arrest against the New York City Police Department... The Hell's Angels motorcycle gang is tired of being the NYPD's piñata." However, the NYPD said, "Considering their violence and unlawful history, it was a prudent response to ensure a safe conclusion," and noted that they confiscated "illegal slot machines, quantities of propane and nitrous oxide that the members didn't have permits for," not to mention the club's front door.
The Sun spoke to the manager of the Edge Bar, where Shalaby had a drink before being beaten up.

The manager of the Edge Bar, located on the same block as the clubhouse, Michael Rich, said Ms. Shalaby came in just before she was found beaten on the street. Mr. Rich said she came in and identified herself as "Barbarella," and then proceeded to "spout off poetry" over a jazz band playing in the bar. He served her one beer before she started crying and complaining about how the East Village had changed for the worse.

When she left, she said, "I'll see you all in hell," and stomped off, he said. Not long after, Mr. Rich said he heard sirens and saw her lying on the sidewalk, bleeding from the head.

Shalaby's daughter Michelle Caruso spoke out against whoever beat Shalaby, saying, "He's a coward, beaiting up a woman. He needs to pay for what he did." And the head of the Hells Angels says his members are innocent: We don't beat up broads."

Why would a normal man join Hells angel? Why would a normal man support Hells angels?

I think if you use the excuse all clubs have bad people.

You are a fool that does not understand the meaning of PERCENT. 1 out of 100 is 1 percent understand? THE Hells angels in the USA seem to have a very large percent of members harming molesting and murdering women and children.

I cannot think of any club gang etc priest bishops Etc that has a higher PERCENT of members then USA hells angels that molest harm and murder women and children UNDERSTAND ?

All year I have been reading about hells angels in many states in court charged with murdering or molesting women and children. I just read about one mistrial the jury 8 guilty 4 not guilty for Robert Thompson California Hells angel accused of murdering 2 teenage girls. They will have another trail soon. The evident seemed overwhelming to me. Also they have a member Dave the hells angels president from Nevada is going to court for child Porn. The Police said He had many neat folders of child porn on his laptop. I think he was headed for a big hells angel’s event with the entertainment when caught with the laptop and cocaine. . Then we had the hells angel Daniel Roberts shoot a women in the back of the head in Maine get 55years then another member Russell Sinkis in Mass has 3 orders of protection from 3 different women and he is also charges with molesting a minor. Then theirs Paul Eischeids from Arizonian another member on the run charged with murdering a mother of 6 brutally. That’s just what I saw in the papers over the last year. I wonder how many I missed and how many went unreported. I remember 20 years ago in NY state they had another Hells angels President with child sex crimes and child porn. I can remember reading about family’s father’s mothers and children murdered by this gang.

The Hells Angels who live in that east village establishmet are a bunch of selfish, arrogant, never grown up thugs. To see them parade around with their pony tails, wrinkled faces, beer pot bellys or drug induced skininess, intimidating neighbours and passers by for everything from daring to park outside their HQ to asking for a photo, makes me sick. It's about time the NYPD and other law enforcement agencies had the balls to properly investigate and lock up these sick f***ks without some smart arse lawyer getting in the way. I say good on the NYPD.

I love the way the cops use the term "quantities" of propane and nitrous oxide. This can equate to a small propane torch for thawing out your water pipes and a similar sized tank of nitrous which is used as a booster for drag racing motorcycles. Both of which are perfectly legal to own without any permits. Meth lab? Anything's possible, but I would think that after 30 years at this location, the Angels would know better than to have a meth lab at the club house which is cetainly under surveillance. What were the cops going to do with the door? Did they need one for the station?

I personally have never witnessed a Hells Angel "beat up a broad." I can say from firsthand experience that I've been threatened by one.

Just filing a lawsuit doesn't mean they'll win. From the sound of it, the NYPD followed all their procedures to the letter.
