MOVIE: Robert Wilson, a graduate of Pratt, will be at his alma mater tonight for a screening of his film Absolute Wilson. The documentary chronicles the life of the somewhat mysterious artist. David Byrne and Phillip Glass (pictured) both add insight to the artist in the film. After the screening tonight, Wilson and director Otto-Bernstein take questions from the audience.
5:30pm // Pratt Institute [200 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn] // Free
EVENT: Miss those days of nap time and arts & crafts? Well they're back, except substitute that nap with alcohol instead. Tonight you can drink all the PBR you want for 15 bucks and a few drawings. Seriously, you have to draw. You'll not only get a buzz, but you'll take home something to hang on the fridge, too.
7 to 10pm // 3rd Ward [195 Morgan Ave, Brooklyn] // $15
MUSIC: If you like a little electro in your soft rock, an occasional bleep over the sound of an acoustic guitar...then you'll likely want to check out Brooklyn duo Mountains (Koen Holtkamp and Brendon Anderegg). Before they play a sold out show opening for Explosions in the Sky at Warsaw next month, check them out tonight at a much smaller venue.
8pm // Tonic [107 Norfolk St] // $8
THEATER: Two new one-acts by Eric Bland (whose Das Brat was part of last summer’s Midtown International Theatre Festival) are going down at Under St. Marks theater. It’s a funky little space, and the plays seem like they’ll fit right in there: “The Bad Bruise of Billy MacBean deconstructs a relationship with verbal sparring, poetic interludes and contemplative vignettes. Billy and Klare like each other very much, that much is clear, but he simply won’t leave his basement. The Gringo of the Deli Acapulco is a euphemism for outsiders. An insane tramp and a social worker fall instantly in love after locking eyes at an all-night deli in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.” - John Del Signore
8pm // Under St. Marks [94 St. Marks Place] // Tickets cost $15
