More Names for WTC Memorial?

Politicians believe more names need to be mentioned at the World Trade Center Memorial Museum. Assemblyman Michael Gianaris of Queens and State Senator Marty Golden of Brooklyn will be introducing a bill that would ask that the names of deceased Ground Zero workers be included.

Jimmy Nolan, carpenter who worked at Ground Zero tells the Daily News, "I'm a carpenter who's now allergic to wood. I was there for my country and my city, and now they're turning their backs on me. It's ridiculous... If my kids can walk past that wall and see my name, I'll be damn proud."

The WTC Memorial Foundation says that the museum will "honor fallen first responders with or without the legislation." It seems like they will be at the museum - we can't imagine the names being added to the memorial itself at this point.

Another family is has filed a wrongful death claim against the city; Mark DeBiase's family says his pulmonary fibrosis was caused by working at Ground Zero and Fresh Kills landfill after September 11. And Bellevue/NYU Med School's 9/11-related illness program has seen a 60% increase in patients since expanding the program.

and what about all the pets that died! and all the places that went out of business - they all need memorials!

come on - it's 9/11 - everyone wants a piece.

IMO, Politicians will jump on any band wagon they can find.

Half the population of New York (including me) walked through that toxic soup on and after 9/11. Are they going to put us ALL on the memorial? Give me a break already. These guys are worse than the lawyers who advertise on the subway with their ambulance chasing.
