They do have strong evidence - But read closer - it's not his. The hair and footprint do not match Cortez. And haven't you watched fingerprints be dismissed? It happens more often than you might think... Apparently, this evidence is strong enough to put someone in jail, but not enough to set someone free if it does not match. Read a bit closer everybody. The DA is not commenting in the NYTimes article, but in the NYPost, the DA is being "quoted" left and right. Who's working for who?

A bloody footprint and hair is pretty strong evidence. Perhaps that is why the court appointed lawyer advised in copping a plea.
