I think that's Gersh's point - Diomede happened to get a lot of attention, but the issue of seniors being priced out of their homes and the bureaucracy that many seniors face can be insurmountable.

Diomede’s social worker had applied for the apartment through the Fifth Avenue Committee’s normal process Yeah right. In a program that states it can take years to get housing, this guy gets it in a matter of maybe two months. Just say higher ups pulled strings for him, and just him. I'm sure he's more worthy of empathy and connections then the next person about to become homeless.
