January 27 - February 4: Navarra Gastronomic Week
From Saturday, January 27, through Sunday, February 4, the cuisine of the Navarra region (it's in the north of Spain and borders the Basque Country, La Rioja, Aragon, and the Pyrenees) will be celebrated with special menus, culinary demonstrations and events, wine tastings and more. January 31: Alex Kapranos Reads at B&N
You think it's tough to be a rock star, try eating while touring as a rock star. Alex Kapronos, lead singer of Franz Ferdinand, will be reading from new book, Sound Bites: Eating on Tour with Franz Ferdinand, which chronicles his gastronomical adventures on tour, partly compiled from his weekly column in the Guardian. 7 pm, Union Square Barnes & Noble, free.
