Add me to the list of people who would hate to have a "permanent" memorial group me with the company I happened to be working for at the time. These are people who died, not employees.

All props to Maya Lin who designed the most affecting memorial in the nation, but look at what this idea of using individual names has brought us. What happened to blank obelisks or guilded wreathes?

Actually, I like this proposal a lot. I agree that adding ages and institutional affiliation would make the memorial more evocative. Though the "save the memorial" rhetoric is too much.

Who cares? These people desperately need to stop obsessing over the memorial and throwing a fit every time a change is proposed. Just build it, put the names on it and be done with the whole thing.
