I read the NY Times article about the Heathers bar, and it really made me sad. The owner Heather Millstone really tried her hardest to please the neighbors; she installed extensive sound-proofing, told everyone to be quiet, etc. All she wanted was a quaint, simple place for artists to hang out at. The fact that the neighbors above the bar purchased an $1100 digital sound pressure meter proves that they are very anal retentive and can't be pleased. They're lucky they have someone like Heather who is trying to be accommodating, and who has a relatively calm clientele. Those neighbors should try their hand at living on Ludlow Street. They'd be thanking Heather every night.

Haha, man I thought we could all keep quiet about that one and have a nice little chuckle over it without Jen ever finding out. Anyone remember that Conan skit where this dude would ruin people's appetites by sneaking up to a dinner table and whispering, pubes? Always cracked me up.

I'm thrilled that somebody's finally cracking down here: "they didn't think offering gluten-free alcohol was considered 'pubic benefit for the community.'" While gluten-free alcohol still gets you drunk, it does absolutely nothing for your pubes.
