On the Plate: Upcoming Food and Wine Events

It may be cold outside, but it's perfect fondue weather. Riverdale Garden will be serving up classic cheese, hearty herb flavored oil with beef and chicken and, of course, bittersweet chocolate. Complete dinner is $29 including house wine and draft beer, or just drinks and music for $15. Dinner starting at 7PM, music at 8:30PM. January 21: Winter Fest at Flatbush Farm
What better way to celebrate winter than with a barbecue? Flatbush Farm is serving up a special menu featuring grilled oysters, venison, sausages, and smoked meats along with a selection of beers from Brooklyn's Six Point Brewery and "music to cure your winter blues." 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 76 Saint Marks Avenue. January 21: A Master Cheesemonger's Favorite Cheeses, and the Wines That Complement Them
Join Steven Jenkins of Fairway Market and Joshua Wesson of Best Cellars as they guide you through tastings of nine cheeses and four wines. $65, 7:30 p.m. Tickets available online. At the 92nd Street Y, Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street.

January 22-26 and January 29-February 2: NYC Restaurant Week
