<description>&lt;p&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Gothamist has daily temperature data back through 1971. January 9th, 1978 also saw the passage of an arctic front. That day started out at 58 degrees and ended at 15 for a range of 43 degrees. Double digits above and below normal in one day!

Check early February 1976 or 1977...I remember one morning it was in the mid-40s with rain, then an arctic front passed, and the temperature dropped to about 10-11 degrees, where it stayed all day. Along with about 3&quot; of snow.
