H&M fans will be cutting themselves over this one: The Misshapes Clothing Line. We were just doing some light reading, when we came across the following:
MisShapes Getting Their Own H&M Line?I was just eating brunch with a New York friend of mine in Glendale and he told me that the MisShapes are getting their own line at H&M! Apparently it will be their name on the line but designed by Benjamin Cho and Josh Madden. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
A while back there were hints at a possible line, though no one seemed to know where. Now we have so many questions! Like will The Misshapes buy clothes from their own line? What's with all the black? Why is Josh Madden the only Madden brother not in Good Charlotte? And if everyone is dressing like them, what will happen to Blue States Lose?
So perhaps The Misshapes are less like Warhol's scene and more like Warhol's art - commercialization dominating society.

These people are tools but I can't fault them for trying to make some money.
does that really say cocaine stash pocket? i thought the whole idea of misshapes was to take your clothes off to show off you're PBR and blow diet?
these guys should cash in asap before another set of 19 year olds get the jump on them. do it quick, kiddies cuz no one will care soon
Misshapes were already in some ads for Eastsport backpacks
Euthanize hipsters.
The MisShapes seem to inspire a lot of hate from people. Why? Is there something inherently wrong with them to cause such venom to come from you people? I can think of a billion worse things people could do than throw parties.

- because they're idiots.
- becuase they're djs who can't dj.
- because they're idiots.
and yes, i'm aware that i mis(shaped)spelled 'because' three times in a row :)
Oooh... they have undersized, shredded hoodies in "Chemical Romance black!" And there's a special pocket for my guyliner!
Eww.
They inspire hate because they're successful.
The whole scene they inspire always seems like people trying way too hard, but only when Merlin/Nikola/Nicky/whoever is around to document it on some party web site. As soon as the camera is gone, the sullen "I am more hipster than you will ever be" vibe comes right back. No fun. They fit right into the general vibe of NY right now, all style, no substance. Vacuous. "Free Bangs Mirror?"
becuase they're not as cool as the pretend to be, they're no warhol, they're not real punk, they're just a bunch of celebrity knob polisher hipster douchebags.
Damn hipster douchebagsss!! What the hell is a hipster, anyway? The grad student with the tweed jacket is a hipster, the graphic designer is a hipster, and these coked-up 19 year old scenester freaks are hipsters. None of them have anything in common, except apparently they're all from Ohio and live off of magical trust funds.
What in the hell is a hipster?? These days it seems like it's anyone who doesn't wear blue dress shirts and brown Dockers.
i can't really envision how their line would really differ from some of H&M's standard stock. i wouldn't not buy something from their line if i liked it. i've only gone to misshapes a few times (i'm not much of a dancer), it's not my thing but i don't hate them for being good or successful at what they do.
These people should enjoy what's left of their 15 minutes of "Just bought an IPOD Now I can DJ!" celeb-status. Then back to Jersey for all of 'em. They're losers and the people going to that party are even bigger losers. It was big for a couple of months but everythings moved on it seems. Oh well. Best of luck to 'em.
never been to a misshapes party, not much interest... a little too mainstream for my taste, you know. but what's with all the hating on these kids? yes, they're idiots, not good dj's, blah blah blah, but they've managed a modicum of success in what they do and people are ready to tear them down.
wtf?
what are you people (that are cutting them down) doing that's so wildly exciting and beneficial to the world? respect to them for milking their minor celebrity for all its worth while they can. the rest of you, move on and do something with yourselves.
shit, can't we all just get along?
p.s. i must say that lovely leigh is really, really, really, really good looking. thanks.
never been to a misshapes party, and not interested, but what's with all the hating? even if they are "idiots" and "bad dj's", blah blah, what's the point on tearing them down?
they've achieved a modicum of success in what they do and respect to them for milking their minor celebrity while they can. all of you would do the same, so stfu and doing something with your lives other than getting jealous that some kids have the limelight for throwing a party.
p.s. also, i must say that leigh is really, really, really, really, really good looking. thanks.
i would like to say, that i have also been to misshapes (with janelle!) and as i've stated here before, i do not have a problem with them at all. when i've encountered them they've been quite nice. so let them make some money (just don't compare them to warhol's factory, please).
for the record, Warhol's factory was just as phony and lame as any other "cool" new york thing. But who cares? just saddle up and have fun.
Ugh. I really don't see what's so interesting about these people, or what they've done of import to become well-known (I resist saying "famous" as I don't know if people know who they are outside of NYC). So I guess I'm wondering, are they just poorer, better-looking versions of Paris Hilton.
as much as i hate on these guys, i must admit a while back (what seems like forever, but what 2 years or so?) they put on some of the best parties in nyc.
it's a shame to see what they've become and the lame stuff they pull together now. such is life i suppose.
who cares?
for the bizillionth time, picking songs on an ipod, creating a playlist, and then playing that playlist over a sound system is NOT dj-ing.
hipsterdom is so 2003. move on.
