  • Ottawa 6 Rangers 4: The Rangers took two periods off and then tried to make up for it with an impressive final 20 minutes. The problem was, they were behind 5-0 when the third period started and while they cut the lead to 5-4, they could not get the tying goal.
  • Islanders 5 Boston 4: New York showed a lot of grit, fighting back from three different deficits to tie the game with less than 2 minutes left and then winning it in a shootout. Rick DiPietro had a brilliant night in goal, stopping 38 shots and allowing only one goal in the shootout.
  • Nets 86 Bulls 83: Newly-liberated Jason Kidd had another triple-double and his 23 points led the team. Vince Carter added 18 and the Nets took a 1/2 –game lead in the division with the win.
  • Seton Hall 79 St. John’s 63: Anthony Mason Jr., had 22 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Red Storm fell to 1-2 in Big East play.
