MOVIE: Beware to those heading over to Pioneer Theater tonight, that Jackass Steve-O will be there promoting his new movie TV: The Movie. "A celebration of the ever increasing depravity of television in our society-- it's a channel surfing adventure through the most utterly ridiculous spoofed television programming and commercials." And we bet he'll totally staple something to his face.
11pm // Two Boots Pioneer Theater // Free
THEATER: A revival of Kirk Wood Bromley's verse play The Death of Griffin Hunter is currently running at The Brick Theater in Williamsburg. It tells the intriguing story of Griffin Hunter, the U.N. Secretary of Disarmament, and the weapons cartel intent on seducing Hunter to sell out his vision for a better world. The Death of Griffin Hunter “features some 30 characters, an Iranian Tazi’ya play-within-a-play, and intricate and compelling plot twists; it's a timely meditation on the complexities of peacemaking in a world where war means profit.” Nytheatre.com reviewed the original production and declared that “anyone who cares about the state of contemporary theater should see this play.” You’ve got until February 3rd to prove you care. - John Del Signore
8pm // The Brick Theater [575 Metropolitan Ave., Williamsburg] // Tickets cost $18
MUSIC: Ryan Adams at Beacon Theater tonig...oh wait, it's BRYAN Adams. Well, if you want to belt out Summer of '69 with other likeminded nostalgic folk, head up there. Check out that steep ticket price! We'd only pay that much if he promised not to sing "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You". Oooh, cuts like a knife (but it feels so right).
8pm // Beacon Theater [2124 Broadway] // $75
Reminder: Au Revoir Simone is at Barnes & Noble with David Lynch tonight!
