THEATER: Adventures in Mating uses the “Choose Your Own Adventure” novel device to stage this comedy about “a girl, a boy, and their stunning inability to make even the most basic of decisions. Miranda and Jeffrey are on a blind date... a magical date? A disasterous one? Only you, the oh-so-fickle public, can decide.” The show opens tonight in New York after a successful debut at the 2005 Minneapolis Fringe Festival. - John Del Signore
8pm // Jimmy’s No. 43 [43 E 7th St] // Tickets cost $10; two drink minimum
MOVIE: At first we thought 1991 heartwrencher Man in the Moon was playing tonight, but then we realized it was equally great Man on the Moon that was tonight's feature at MoMA. The 1999 film starring Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman is about as close as you'll ever get to ever really getting inside Kaufman's head.
6pm // Museum of Modern Art [11 W 53rd St] // Free with admission, $10 without
READING: Rolling Stone contributing editor (an employee that didn't get his job through a reality show), Rob Sheffield, will be reading tonight from his book, "Love is a Mix Tape: Life and Loss, One Song at a Time".
7pm // B&N [4 Astor Place] // Free
ART: Squared @ The Ernest Rubinstein Gallery will be ending later this week.
