If you didn’t see any Giants games this year and tuned in to yesterday’s 23-20 loss, you were treated to a microcosm of the season. Dumb penalties, inconsistent quarterbacking, tough running and a defense that can’t make a key stop, plagued the Giants all year and cost them the game Sunday.
New York had a chance to seize control of the game in the first quarter after taking a 7-0 lead. On three consecutive possessions the defense bottled the Eagles up and the offense took control around midfield, but failed to take advantage. The Eagles jumped on top in the second quarter and led 17-10 at the half.
After falling behind by ten points, the Giants rallied and tied the game on the biggest drive of Eli Manning’s career. Things looked lost after three penalties put New York in a 1st-and-30 situation, but Eli eventually connected with Plaxico Burress for the touchdown. Once again the defense could not get a key stop and the Eagles kicked the winning field goal as time expired.
And so, the career of one of the greatest Giants comes to a sad end. Tiki Barber will head into retirement and will be joined by GM Ernie Accorsi. The question is, what other changes will occur? With a new GM you should expect changes and perhaps that will start with the head coach.

They should go after Matt Millen. I hear he's good.
Jimmy Johnson
Steve Mariucci
John Fox
As long as Eli Manning is QB, that team is doing nothing. He's a bum.
John Fox sort of has a job already. Seems pretty happy in Carolina.
Why would he take on a Giants team that will be losing at least 50% of its talent pool due to a single retirement?
The Giants have no QB, no RB, one receiver who has potential but takes every other play off, and a weak defense. The Panthers have a pretty good D, an up and coming RB in D'Angelo Williams, and at least one hard-working receiver.
