A look at some noteworthy programs this week:

NFL Football: AFC Wild Card – New York Jets at New England Patriots/NFC Wild Card: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. WCBS 2 /Sunday, 4:00 p.m. WNYW 5 ) No matter what your New York (ok, technically New Jersey) football persuasion there is a game for you today. At 1:00 CBS served up the Jets playoff game against the Pats and Fox has the Giants agains Eagles at 4:00.
Grease: You're the One That I Want (Sunday, 8:00 p.m. WNBC 4 ) Probably the best way to describe this new NBC fakeality show is American Idol meets A Chorus Line. NBC seems to be making a big bet on the show and promoting it as if Grease was some sort of widespread cultural phenomenon, but most people either think of the movie or some awful high school production of it instead. Regardless, NBC is looking for greased lightning to strike in the ratings.
The Apprentice: Los Angeles (Sunday, 9:30 p.m. WNBC 4 ) The Donald returns for another outing of The Apprentice this time swapping coasts with LA replacing NYC. We can’t help wondering if the change of scenery help or hurt the show. The Donald in La La Land just doesn’t seem right. Although it does get him 3000 miles away from Rosie O'Donnell.
Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence (Monday, 10:00 p.m. WNET 13) Veteran correspondent Judy Woodruff takes a look at the recent rise of anti-Semitism taking a look at its origins and what perpetuates it today.
The 33rd Annual People's Choice Awards (Tuesday, 10:00 p.m. WCBS 2) Queen Latifah hosts yet another useless awards show, this one's hook is that the awards were done by polling people. So if you are unhappy with the results remember how scientific polls are.
Armed and Famous (Wednesday and Thursday, 8:00 p.m. WCBS 2) This CBS fakeality offering was probably pitched as Dancing With the Stars meets Cops. The concept is pretty simple: take some F-list “talent” - Jason Acuña , Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Jack Osbourne, and Trish Stratus - and train them to be cops and let them loose on a Midwestern town. This may actually prove to be some watchable television and hopefully the good citizens of Muncie, Indiana aren’t too offended by this show.
CSI: NY (Wednesday, 10:00 p.m. WCBS 2) Normally there is no reason to watch CSI:NY, the comically inaccurate police procedural that tries to find bits of LA that sort of look like NYC after filming a few token shots in the city. However this week they their investigations lead them towards the participants of an Idiotarod-like race.
Frontline: Return of the Taliban (Friday, 9:00 p.m. WNET 13) The PBS documentary series takes a look at the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan
New York Voices: The New Governor (Friday, 10:00 p.m. WNET 13) Thirteen's public affairs show spotlights the new Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer.

Knights Of Prosperity on ABC on wed. @ 9pm is quite funny.
I've never seen an episode, but I hear that The Wire is the best show on TV. They start running past episodes on BET starting on the 10th. Looking forward to seeing what I've been missing.
I'm a huge fan of The Wire and would recommend anyone interested in it to check out the uncensored/uncut DVD episodes instead. It's so tough to just understand all the ghetto slangs (closed captioning rocks) in the beginning, let along keep track of all the characters, but it is so rewarding to see them continuously evolve.
I am outraged! Outraged I tell you! CSI:NY's producers are defaming the noble art of the speeding shoppingmartket trolley! Yet again the media feels that it must degrade us and make us out to be thieves and murders!
