Last Night's Action: Nets Bow to King James
- Cavaliers 96, Nets 91: They ran into a hot team, but at least the Nets can take solace in the play of Mikki Moore, who scored 18 points. LeBron James (19 points and 13 rebounds) proved too much for the Nets defense. Good thing these teams don't swtich divisions. The Nets -- in second place in the Atlantic -- would be last in the Central.
- Devils 3, Senators 2: Martin Brodeur proved up to the challenge of the the Senators' attack, and the Devils used two Brian Gionta goals to win on the road. New Jersey's picked up points in six straight games, proving that even a two-month nap in the NHL season doesn't cost anything.
- Rangers 4, Canadiens 3: Weren't the Rangers just on a seven-game losing streak? Now they've won four straight. A healthy Henrik Lundqvist makes a difference. So does playing a team with its best players sidelined because they're ill.
- Hurricanes 4, Islanders 2: One local losing streak fades, another one grows. The Islanders have now lost six straight. They also gave up three goals in 4 minutes, 29 seconds.
