Hey, thank god! Because if these tickets weren't so EXCLUSIVE, then no one could actually brag about having them and they couldn't run up the prices. I mean, they could have played a larger venue and entertained more people who wanted to see them, but screw that! Must play small venues and exclude anyone who didn't get in for the first 5 minutes of sales!

And that's because music listeners are stupid enough to continue supporting bands who are too cool to provide enough seats for all comers. It's better to follow the herd and make yourself crazy trying to see a band that chooses to play in the smallest church in Manhattan (!!!) than support bands who actively try to accommodate as many fans as possible.

Here's a clue, people: if a band needs to artificially create scarcity by only playing small venues after being signed to big labels, there's something wrong with them. Bruce Springsteen plays Giants Stadium frequently, only because there is no venue bigger in NJ. Because he's good, and he can fill all those seats. If Arcade Fire played MSG for $70 per ticket, only 10,000 people would come (out of a 25-mil metro population) and 9,000 would leave thinking, "Ugh, that wasn't what I thought it would be". And they would lose all their hype. Think about that before you even touch those tix on Craigslist.

Apparently you people spend a lot of time coming up with witty criticisms of music and fans thereof that you don't like.

Pretty lame, is all.

jorduroy: the sad/scary thing is that someone will probably buy them. I like the band, but would never pay more than $80 to see ANY band, no matter how good...

Count me amongst the denied. I somehow got all the way to the "select tickets" page at one point, only to be redirected to the Virtual Waiting Room... I finally gave up at 9:20. Totally blows!
