Giants vs. Eagles: Round III

2006_09_sgiantseagles.gifThe playoffs have arrived and somehow the Giants have made it into them. It’s hard to believe that a team that went 2-6 down the stretch could make it to the playoffs, but that is reflective of the mediocre NFC and a reason for the Giants to hope.

Hope for a championship? No, that would be overshooting, but beating the Eagles is not out of the question. Three weeks ago the Giants fell apart in the final minutes to lose to Philadelphia and while the Eagles have remained hot since then, nothing else has really changed.

The Giants are still wildly inconsistent on both sides of the ball. They seemingly can’t get out of their own way at times, but they also still have Tiki Barber. Last week, they put the ball in Barber’s hands and won and expect the same this week. Tiki to the left, Tiki to the right, Tiki up the middle, if they don’t rush him at least 25 times they are crazy.

It should be a tight game and while it will be warm, it will probably also be raining. Mistakes will be made by both teams, but the Eagles will prevail in the end.

The Eagles and Giants play at 4:30 pm on Sunday and can be seen on Fox.

"...but the Eagles will prevail in the end"

You got that right. Tiki was held to under 100 yards in both games. I hope they do run him all day. He'll learn quickly how much stouter the Eagles D has become as the season has progressed.

a true Eagles fan would be predicting a Giants win. For shame Go Green. As for me, I'll be cheering the Eagles on, praying for them to pull out the W (but as bad as the Giants have been over the second half of the season, I'm still not holding my breath).

Eagles will 'prevail'. I think not. Do you honestly believe that a team such as the Eagles could beat the AMAZING Giants? Definatly not. Have fun on Sunday watching the Eagles getting creamed ! GO GIANTS (=

I'm rooting for the sixth borough

Who wins/loses matters less to me than having to suffer Peyton Manning's ugly mug in every other commercial.

Die Manning family. Just die.
