I meant grammar wise. "On line" is nonsense and makes people sound stupid when they say it. If you were on the internet, it would be appropriate. But when physically in a line waiting for something, its "in line".

By the way, its "in line" NOT "on line". I hate that New Yorkers seem to think that its okay to wait on line. Its not. No, we don't think that it's OK to wait on line... but in a city this crowded, tou sometimes have to. That's just one of the small prices we pay for living in the center of the universe. Have patience.
