THEATER: The Big Voice: God or Merman? is a new comedic musical by Jim Brochu and Steve Schalchlin, who have been a couple for over two decades. The two-man show “traces their meeting aboard a ship in the Atlantic Ocean, Steve's struggle with AIDS, the production of their hit Off-Broadway musical The Last Session, their separation, and their reconciliation.” The Times gushed, “A hilarious and utterly enthralling evening of musical theater. Here art is achieved with light hands, and the result is a triumphant and very touching song of praise to everyday love and the funky glories of the show business life." - John Del Signore

MUSIC: The View is playing at Mercury Lounge tonight, check out their video for "Wasted Little DJs", above. According to Wikipedia, the band once "handed a demo CD and busked to an amused and impressed Pete Doherty, who asked the band to play a set in support of his own band's performance later that night. A few months later Doherty asked The View to support a national Babyshambles tour." Note the early set time!
