Extra, Extra

  1. Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: a jumper up on West 29th, a DOA on Riverside Drive, and a large fight in the Bronx.
  2. There was also a big bank robbery in Queens-- the robbers fled, and attempted to carjack someone, but they were stopped by a police officer. Shots were exchanged-- the officer got hit in the leg, and one of the suspects got shot in the chest.
  3. The Daily News follows up on the feuding Brooklyn couple who split their house down the middle with drywall-- the husband seems to be enjoying himself: "It's a wailing wall... But she's the only one wailing."
  4. Staten Island has been cracking down on repeat-DUI offenders, with a 36% increase in people doing actual jail time.
  5. The search for WTC remains continues: the west side of the site is being dug up now, at a cost of more than $30m.
  6. Props to Swoon: it's not every day that a New York City graffiti artist gets up in Baghdad.

Extra, Extra, street art is not graffiti!

$30 million not being spent on schools, roads, mass transit. . . .

I am sure the families have been bothered incessantly about stats and polls and things, but I am finally curious: how many of them think the American government had a hand in 9/11?

Where is this 30 million coming from?

This country is such a joke it isn't funny anymore.
