Showing off a .357 caliber gun turned deadly when a shot Fidel Gonzalez meant to go out the window actually hit his brother in the head. Twenty-eight year old Jorge Gonzalez died from being shot in the head, and the police believe that brothers had been drinking during the evening. Apparently the brothers, including a third brother, had been hosting a holiday party and had been drinking tequila. Around 3:45AM, Fidel Gonzalez fired a gun to celebrate, and the shot hit his brother, who died at Jacobi Hospital.
Someone called 911 and when police arrived, the brothers claimed a stray bullet had hit Jorge, according to the Post. But the police found the gun; an investigator said, "This wasn't an intentional shooting. It was a case of stupidity." The three brothers were well-liked and described as hardworking and hard drinking.

Unbelievable. If I were the police, I'd have that guy on a suicide watch.
Before the stupidity begins, let's remember that a HUMAN life (yes, we know: a dirty messican, probably ilegal, right?!) Anyhoo geniuses...a man lost a life, a mother lost a son and it's tragic.
What I meant to say amidst my tears was: a HUMAN life was lost...etc
oh, he meant to shoot out the window, where he could have hit someone he didn't know. That's cool.
My condolences to their entire family. I can't imagine what that family is going thru now.
Bad enough when a family member dies but his has to be devastating. I wasn't kidding above: IMO, that guy should be on a suicide watch.
it's terrible and a tragedy to be sure, but i wonder what possesses people to play around with handguns when they're drunk (or even play around with them when they're sober)? to me, it's like asking for trouble.
a .357 is a huge fing gun. what the hell did he have it for? and yeah, the .357 wouldn't just "hit his head" it would blow it off.
I can sort of understand playing with a gun but after a while it get's boring because you'd rather shoot than play with it. When "playing", please, keep the ammo separate from the gun. Damn shame, I wonder what .357 mag was it, they are fun to shoot.
And, it really should be unloaded and locked in the home. Now, don't carry it outside kiddys.
Not that it's entirely relevant, but was this a legal handgun? I didn't catch that fact at all. Just curious.
I believe the news said he was charged with illegal possession of an illegal firearm.
Since it was in the home, the penalties are not as bad as if he was carrying it in the streets.
of course, he won't get it back.
" fired a gun to celebrate" um...does this guy think he's a shiite? wtf?
