Do wooden escalators specialize in severing fingers? Or are all of them just hazardous for kids?

Kevin: did you just make AFAIK up? nice one. The Smith-9th F/G stop used to have wooden escalators. Now they have the metal ones, and it seems at least 2 of the 6 are always broken. And different ones every day.

I hope this doesn't lead to the loss of Macy's wooden escalators: they are the last ones remaining in NYC, AFAIK. www.forgotten-ny.com
