Woman Killed by R Train

2006_12_rtrain.jpgYesterday, 1010WINS reported that a woman was killed by an R train in Brooklyn. She had been standing on the 53rd Street station platform with her husband at 10:12AM when the Manhattan-bound train hit her. There haven't been any follow-up stories explaining what happened.

Remember, stand a few feet from the platform edge. The MTA's Safety instructions say, "While you're waiting, please stand behind the yellow protective strip, away from the platform edge. No matter what situation arises, keep off the tracks. Tracks contain 600 volts of live electricity. If you drop something on the tracks, go to the station booth and tell the agent."
