The iconic dome of Red Hook's Revere Sugar Refinery will probably disappear sometime in the next couple of weeks. To memorialize this grand and gritty vestige of the neighborhood's industrial past, we'd like to collect pictures of the inside and outside of the factory. Please add yours in the links. The ones above come to us via GC, who wrote in last night:

I and another photographer visited the revere sugar refinery on sunday, the day before real demolition began. We documented the interior of the iconic cone, and explored throughout the buildings in the complex. If you are interested in doing an article about out visit to the place, please contact me. Our best shot of Revere can be found at Bluejake.

Wonderful pictures! Is this open for anyone to go inside and shoot in? I've wanted to get a better look at the Sugar Refinery for awhile.

the dude in the second picture is totally hitting a pipe...living on the edge.

Absolutely freakin' amazing. I love this building, I'm sad to see it go.

Thanks for posting my email and links to our photos. The Revere Sugar Refinery was one of the most amzing spaces I have been into in New York. Its sad to see it torn down.

These photos were all taken by Mercurialn, who can be found on flickr here:

And thats me in the second picture.

Jake - if you're really into industrial decay, the base of Long Island, Hudson Valley and Jersey often outdo Brooklyn and - anticipating your response - are connected enough to the NY area to justify a Gothamist field trip.

I have location scouted that place!

Old Red Hook is falling down all around. NY Shipyard is gone. I heard something about Ikea going in on that property.

If you live in Red Hook you know there is a lot of controversy over the graving dock and the shipping terminal as well.
