I live in the neighborhood and agree with the last post... the gentrified types actually clean up after their dogs. the 'old school'/RealMcoy types (at least on my block) just let them sh1t everywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if the person letting the dog go all over the door is some obnoxious Yuppie or Hipster. I can picture the character now, he walks down the street in a tight t-shirt, wears Kafka glasses, grew up someplace inthe Midwest and thinks he is a real New Yorker.

what makes you think they know who it is? maybe they've never actually caught them in the act so notes are the only way they can be sure to get their message across.
