At Least on the subway you get a free bus transfer. If you live in say Jersey City and commute to work, you have to pony up 1.25 for bus or light rail to get to the PATH station in Jersey City, then you pay 1.50 for the PATH, and then when you get to manhattan, you have to pay another 2.00 for subway if you don't work close to the Manhattan PATH stations.

They should change MetroNorth, LIRR, & NJ Transit ticket fares into Metrocard flat fares with free transfers to the Subway & PATH.

It would effectively extend City of New York (and the way we use mass transit) to Montauk, New Haven, Poughkeepsie, Trenton et al.

The MTA should lower the ticket prices on the LIRR and MNRR. A monthy ticket from Yonkers to GCT costs $160 - OUTRAGEOUS! for about a 25-30 minute ride into the city.
