TVotR hands down. Fiery Furnaces _Bitter Tea_ deserves a nod too, but TVotR rolls it. The Strokes are for 12-year-old girls, happy to have an opinion on this.

everyone is entitled to their opinion so -- not necessary to beat the dead horse i.e. CBGB's - Grizzly Bear is mediocre at best and Heart on a Stick really sucks - probably the worst music blog out there. the gothamist needs to check out the nooks and crannies and bypass the surface.

PELA, PELA, PELA! I saw them at a CMJ show and have been listening to them constantly every since - I am baffled as to why they aren't huge. Their songs are excellent on the iPod, but they are even better live. This isn't some Matt and Kim novelty act (who I saw and loved at Roosevelt Island over the summer, but didn't want on my iPod). My guess though is that Pela won't make it because they just are too good and not "challenging" enough to create the buzz they need to get out of Brooklyn.

dig the Strokes but their new vinyl is not their best. I almost like Albert Hammond's solo stuff better. It is refreshing to see Julian C. performing though without murdering half the lyrics.
