i was unfortunately there when it happened. it really seemed like it was a bunch of macho dudes having a verbal argument. I tried to finish my food when who I assume is the cop, walked by with a bloody chest. It was bizarre to hear a cop say moments later that the victim was in critical condition in the hospital and might die. the place was filled with peeps just coming out of union pool and other area spots, which meant we were all at different levels of intoxication.

the cops were there really quickly. i thought some of them were contaminating witnesses with their comments. we were all forced to stay there for about 2 hours for police questioning and then slowly released for more questioning.

It's not really a coincidence that the police van is parked out front. There's a police station directly below Kellogg's in the subway concourse, which makes it all the more unusual that an officer would be assaulted there. You'd think there'd be backup out the wazoo on that one.
