I was just thinking about Ertegun yesterday. Jewel made an appearance on CBS' "The Late, Late Show" saying that she now lives in Texas and is writing country music. She also said that she does not have a record label. That last part surprised me because that last time I saw Ertegun on TV he was talking about just having signed a "famous young lady that you will recognize, her name is Jewel". That got me thinking about whether Ertegun dropped Jewel himself or whether he had retired or was even still alive. Now I know the answer. Resquiat in Pace.</p>
