PARTY: What's the holiday season without awkward office parties? Metro Metro is having their office party tonight, think of it as more of a Christopher Guest version of the office party. A mockumentary, if you will. Nametags and job titles will be assigned at the door! Dress code: office holiday attire.

6pm // Still Bar [190 Third Ave] // $5

THEATER: The Blue Coyote Theater Group has instigated an evening of short plays called The Standards of Decency Project. The company commissioned nine playwrights to “offend conventional standards of decency”. Touchy subjects to be probed include nudity, violence, and blasphemy – “all fully justified and non-gratuitous”. The provocateurs are David Johnston, David Foley, Matthew Freeman, Boo Killebrew, Kristen Palmer, Laura Henry, Brian Dykstra, Stan Richardson, and John Yearly; the experiment ends on the 17th. - John Del Signore

8pm // Access Theater [380 Broadway] // Tickets cost $18

MUSIC: Tonight, in Manhattan, Pennsylvania band Illinois will be joining Brooklynite Andrew Thompson, and a few other bands, to fill out a packed lineup at Pianos. Tomorrow night, Illinois (pictured) is back at Pianos - so you have no excuse to miss their banjo rock this week!

Meanwhile, Sin-e will be housing Bound Stems, Ra Ra Riot, The Muggabears and Tall Hands tonight, all there to play the Friction show. These shows are always really fun, really packed and usually supplied with Sparks. We won't tell you how much we love Bound Stems, you know already by now. The Muggabears and Tall Hands are also great bands that you don't want to miss. Check out some mp3s from those two, below. We don't really have anything nice to say about the other band, so, you know how that saying goes...(sometimes).
