Condo Board Fires Trump Jr.

2006_12_donjr220.jpgAwesome: The Post reveals that Donald Trump Jr. was fired from the condo board of his own Upper West Side building! While one might initially suspects that a Trump would have a lifetime seat on a condo board of a building with the Trump name, 220 Riverside Boulevard at Trump Place was never owned by The Donald - he lent his name out to a group of investors. It seems that at a November 8 boarding meeting, resident Eugenia Kaye engineered an ouster to replace the whole board. Some tenants explained the Post why Kaye was so upset:

In late October, Kaye hand-addressed letters to the owners of all 420 units, outlining a series of grievances.

She also urged them to attend the building's Nov. 8 annual meeting to vote the board out while voting her in. Those who could not attend were asked to vote via proxy.

Among the gripes was the board's requirement that tenants schlep across town to Trump headquarters to read the minutes from its monthly meetings, rather than having them e-mailed or available in the building, another tenant said.

"Even if we did go over there, they wouldn't give us copies of the minutes. We had to read them in the office," the tenant said.

There were also questions about an $80,000 line item in the management's ledger categorized as "other" under "office expenses."

The most irksome issue seemed to be the board's handling of a recent $300,000 Con Ed bill, which it initially said were charges assessed on a faulty electric meter.

"A month later, they sent a second letter telling us it was for a broken gas meter," said another tenant. "We never got the full story."

Ha! The ol' "it's a broken electric meter...no, it's a broken gas meter" scam - we just thought that happened in less posh buildings. Now, many building condo board meetings are never widely attended, and at the meeting where only 60 of 400 some owners attended, the board president ruled there was no quorum. A tenant tells the Post that's when Kaye took out 150 proxy votes and managed to replace the whole board, with herself elected as president.

Trump Jr. said that Kaye's actions were "possibly fraudulent" and "very underhanded." Whatever, if this were pulled off by any Apprentice contestant, we're sure they'd get props. And fun fact: Kaye is the wife of Tony Kaye, who famously tried to take his directing credit off the film American History X.

wow, nice move. way to go Mrs. Machiavelli!

assuming that the proxy votes were authentic, how is that Machievellian? the people in the building had the right to skip the meeting and vote via proxy.

Trump doesn't own any of the buildings that have his name on it.
He essentially sells his name to be on the buildings in order to attract the rich, foreigner crowd.

tony kaye is a fucking asshole and it sounds like he found an asshole wife.

$80,000 in "office expenses"? I smell lawsuit...

What a douche.

I had a similar thing happen in my condo. The old members were corrupt and now the new members are corrupt. ANybody know how a regular condo joe can open the books?

#7. You can contact your management company or the law firm for your building.

Jen Chung - the next story should start to look at the corrumption at the Trump World Tower.

Trump's son being fired was the start of the fall of the empire. It was a brilliant move by Eugenia Kaye to overthrow the dictatorship and not tolerate the corrupt Trump Company.

Philip Recchia from the New York post should also feel proud and be commended to write such a story. What Philp and Eugenia should do is team up with the Trump World Tower Board, which tried to oust Trump for taking $40 Million from the building in special assessments and leaving the building owners with a defective building that will crumble after the structural issues and engineering study that was done is made public. People like Stephen L. Green and his wife Nancy Green were instrumental to almost overthrowing the Trump Company, yet failed after Trump paid off the Board and bought them apartments in his building. Their fees keep going up 20% per year. The building condos will be depreciating each year.

Best of luck Eugenia Kaye. Also, best of luck to Philip Recchia and we hope he finds his follow up story now.

CONDO'S COUP A TRUMP SHAKER
DONALD JR. BOOTED OFF BOARD AT DAD'S BLDG.
By PHILIP RECCHIA

IT'S WAR: Donald Trump Jr., here with wife Vanessa, claims a renegade resident engineered his ouster by "possibly fraudulent" means.

December 10, 2006 -- You're fired, Donald Trump Jr.!
The 28-year-old heir apparent to the Trump real-estate empire has been ousted from his own condo board in a coup d'état during which tenants alleged "arrogant" and "belligerent" behavior and dubious management practices by the board.
Trump Jr. was blindsided at a meeting on Nov. 8, when one angry resident wielding 150 proxy votes re placed the entire seven-member board of 220 Riverside Blvd., one of seven swanky residences at Trump Place, daddy Donald's $3 billion Upper West Side development.
"They treated us with scorn - so it's good riddance," one tenant told The Post.

Trump Jr. called the election "possibly fraudulent" and told The Post he plans to battle back against the resident, Eugenia Kaye.
"I don't like what happened," Trump Jr. said. "What Kaye did was very underhanded."
She "spun a tale about pur ported mismanagement" then "sought out those tenants she thought would side with her," he said.
Once they did, she asked them to sign a ballot containing the names of six additional board candidates.

"Most of those absentee voters thought they were voting for Kaye alone," he said.

Kaye, wife of filmmaker Tony Kaye, was elected president of the board in the vote. She declined to comment.
Trump Jr., an executive vice president at the Trump Organization, moved into the building two years ago and has served on the board since 2003, when he was appointed by his dad.

Condo policy dictates that at least 51 percent of the tenants have to vote against the board to give it the heave-ho.
When only about 60 of the more than 400 owners showed up at the Nov. 8 meeting, Board President Paul Davis informed the group there was no quorum, another tenant said.
"That was when Kaye whipped out a stack of about 150 proxy votes - and Donnie Trump's face went white," the tenant said.

corruption

The Trump Company is corrupt and the people that live in any of the buildings, including the Trump World Tower are pathetic. You can not buy class. The Trump World Tower has a fake tax abatement, which people received a tax discount, yet pay it in an assessment on the building. Everyone pays the assessment, except the apartments that Trump owns. What fools.

Also the Board is corrupt and full of people that trump has his hand up their buts. They can't even tie their shoes without his permission.

What fools are all of the people living in these buildings. Keep paying Trump. He owns all of you.

Trump Jr. is just as much a corrupt idiot as his father, and as ugly.

Trump Jr. is the fraud here, not Eugenia Kaye. Donald and his son are both criminals. They just haven't gotten caught. Trump Jr. has been fired by the residents of the Trump building. Donald resigned from the Trump World Tower after they caught him with his hand in the cookie jar. Trump is the bully. Eugenia is the hero. Rosie should speak with Eugenia Kaye to find out how she overthrew the building.

Trump Jr. - please just shut your dumb mouth and get ready to divorce your wife and be just like your dad and pollute the word.

THe whole Trump Org is going down, including the board at the Trump World Tower, who is just as corrupt. They took $35 Million from the building and there is an unfixed engineering problem of "suction" wind throught he lobby doors.

Does anyone realize that Daddy Trump, as usual, managed to cover all this up by forcing Kaye out of the building? He and/or his cronies were also behind "trumping" up assault charges against her and sending the cops twice to her door to arrest her. It was like a facist police state move. And it was all a big lie but he can't get out from this one. The NYPD did an investigation and there's a secret report circulating that proves what he did. The NY Post ran a story on it a few weeks ago and Trump tried but couldn't get it killed. Go Post!
