the idea of artistic "influence" suffered a excruciating death a long time ago. how shocking that the whitney would mount a show based on that very theme. it was really a dull, boring show, with a lot of terrible comparatives, and brought back bad memories of art 101 slide exams...

Or there's "Cezanne to Picasso" at the Met through Jan. 7th. Get up early, have a few drinks, and go on a Picasso crawl.
