Giants Look For A Win

2006_12_sgiantspanthers.gifThe Giants finally caught a scheduling break; they get to play a team as injured and confused as they are. Carolina heads into this weekend’s matchup with their quarterback, both starting cornerbacks and various other players all listed as questionable. To make matters worse, the team has lost two in a row, including a heartbreaker to Philadelphia last Monday night.

That doesn’t mean New York will get an easy victory, but this is a game they should win. They have gotten healthy over the past two weeks, with only Michael Strahan, Luke Petitgout and Corey Webster remaining on the injury list. The return of Sam Madison, Brandon Short and Osi Umenyiora has bolstered the defense and the offense played pretty well last week against Dallas.

The Giants have four games left and at 6-6 they are tied with 3 other teams for one of the two wild card spots in the conference. Carolina is one of those teams and with a victory New York would have the inside track at a playoff spot. Gothamist thinks they get it in a close game.
