To the "Dullsville" commentor. you are a complete jack ass of course there will be more interesting things in all of jersey, than in all of westchester. Jersey is a state westchester, O,&R are only counties. Also, I dont think that morons inhaling funny car exhaust(Englishtown) or a Stadium (Medowlands) Is more interesting than the Antecedents of our nation. Philipsburg mannor, Cortland Mannor, West Point.

P.S. The residents of Westchester would like to thank you for moving to New Jersey. If you found our historic county boring, we are sure you will be able to amuse yourself in a exciting state like New Jersey.... and G.F.Y. lol

No offense to Metro-Northers, but New Jersey is infinitely more interesting and has more character than Westchester, Rockland and Orange Counties combined. Talk about Dullsville. (I've lived in all places mentioned above)

Understood.

But I find NJ Transit very expensive anyhow. Its 14 bucks off peak to go to Newark Airport from Penn station! To go the same distance on the LIRR in the other direction is half that price.

Some of us actually like to visit New Jersey, and there are some really nice places there. And unlike Metro-North and the LIRR NJ Transit allows you to take the bike on the train (off peak) without a permit - something the MTA charges you a one time $5 fee for. Before they came up with one unified permit, the MTA made you get one for the LIRR and one for Metro-North which was $5 each. I had a Metro-North one which I turned in for the new MTA one which oddly enough I never have used on Metro-North, but on the LIRR.

And for the record, NJ Transit goes to New York and I do not mean just Penn Station. It serves places like Port Jervis.

Ahh yes Toby . That may be true, but you fail to take into account the Ultimate Problem with NJ Transit…

It takes you into New Jersey.

I think New Jersey Transit has a much better seat. Take a look at this photo and you will see there is nothing sticking out for you to catch your pants on. They also have places for you to secure your bike to on New Jersey Transit, assuming you have the proper bungee cords to do it.
The last time I took my bike on the LIRR I had to stand up and hold it, while the last time on New Jersey Transit I secured it and sat.

"calculating the depreciation of the pants"??? That may work for cars, but thats total BS for pants. They should cover for a replacement. Maybe if there were used pants dealers all over the city it would be a different story.

Also, who says if you can afford a $1000 suit you can't take the subway?? I just had a meeting last week with a billionaire that took the subway t our office. don't hate.
