THEATER: Elixer Productions, which intends to “challenge perceptions of gender, sexuality, identity, and human connection”, is currently presenting the Kabuki-inspired To Be Loved. The story sounds juicy: “A monk is haunted by the death of a boy he loved. Then, one night, he sees the boy's soul - in the body of a young female prostitute. Gender collides with lust - and desire with human ownership - as the couple plans their escape from a war-battered pimp and a rich, middle-aged heiress who seeks control over all their lives.” - John Del Signore
