FESTIVAL: Today marks the start of the Blip Festival. The arts fest that explores the medium "of the 8-bit scene - musicians and artists who use low-bit videogame and computer hardware as their creative tools.

The festival is the widest-reaching event in the history of the form, boasting a roster of over 30 international artists performing and exhibiting from places as diverse as Austria, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and across the United States."

THEATER: Radiotheatre begins The Haunting of 85 East 4th Street, a one-of-a-kind production that promises “amplified story telling, elaborate sound design and an original orchestral score”. It seems the building, home to KGB Bar and two theaters, is haunted by more than just the horrible memories of interminable readings and amateur theatricals; according to the show’s website, the venue is well known to scientists of the paranormal. “Its history is riddled with murders and horrible deaths which began even before the present building was erected a hundred years ago. Sightings of ethereal beings and strange noises, unexplainable occurrences, foul smells and cold spots have made this location one of the most haunted in all of America. Join us as we plan to uncover its gruesome past and maybe even speak to some of the troubled spirits who still reside there!” - John Del Signore

8pm // Red Room Theater [85 E 4th St] // Tickets are $18

MUSIC: There are very few bands that could get us to go to R&R. Chin Up Chin Up and Foreign Islands may be two of those bands. They're playing the Meatpacking district venue tonight. And it's free!
