I guess we should excuse Vinny his comment. His cold heart along with the big chip on his shoulder must be impairing his judgment, and ability to empathize. This is about people who have called that building HOME for decades and now their HOMES are under threat. This is not about Vinny 's, or anyone who agrees with his views, personal real estate or jealousy issues.

1) This is about the loss of our homes! - NOT RENTSTABILIZATION AND HOW MUCH WE CAN PAY OR NOT PAY!!!!
2) This is about the fact that people who have lived here and have raised their children and now their children have children come to see their grandparents.
3) This is about a posh private school whose administration has made the decision to buy our building and turn our lives upside down. This is a school that has prided itself, as per their mission statement about "active responsible citizenship in a democratic society". This is about their acting irresponsibly, evading our please and requests for answers and dissembling not worth of Brearley's motto, "By Truth and Toil".
4) This is about the elderly and infirm who have been living here for decades and where they will go to - nursing homes? Would you want to go there?
5) This is about a tenant with an oxygen tank who lives here and has not been told about the situation because it could give him a great and devastating shock.
6) This is about our 104 year old grand dame.
7) This is about our dear friends who have already started to leave the building because of an impending sale and the wonderful young families who came to live here with the thought this would be a war and safe neighborhood, especially with Brearley right next store.
8) This is about Manhattan becoming a city where ONLY luxury high rise condos and the people who buy them can exist.
9) This is about the squeezing our of the middle class and all of us who are becoming increasingly unable to afford this city that was once of artists and local shop owners and business people and cops and nurses and is now becoming one monolithic homogenous city.

I don't care how you slice it. If you're paying $2000 a month for an apartment in that neighborhood, you're getting over.

Cry me a river. You shoulda been saving some money with all the money you weren't spending on rent you leeches.

The Post article is rather confusing; firstly, it refers to rent-control laws, then states that many of the residents are rent-stabilized (which is very, very different than rent control). Further down, it lumps them all into the vague category of "rent-regulated."
