Hot Sake - Food News You Can Use

2006_03_food_Hot Sake2.jpg- Mr. Bruni opens the door and takes a peek inside on soft openings.

- For the hard-core international diner, Pim has a “whose dish is this?” quiz. Bonus points if you can make some matches without using the English translations.

- We will take any opportunity to throw the spotlight on the fine man that Charles Gabriel is. Looks like he is all set to open up another spot in his family of restaurants. Just looking this photo makes us want to trek up to the 151st street original.

- The Times has a long piece on the battle over proposed labeling of farm raised salmon with the organic tag. While folks from Alaska are up in arms that their pristine wild specimens may not be eligible for the label, we do hope the side effect is that more consumers go for the red-herring of organic farmed fish and leave more of the delicious wild varieties around for the rest of us.

- Back into the Times for a report of what Chowhound founder Jim Leff has been up to since the CNET acquisition. This passage really seems to speak to the core of this guy: "Mr. Leff made multiple stops on his flight to Los Angeles to save money and he missed his connecting flight because, he said, 'nobody told me how many phenomenal eating opportunities there are at Midway Airport.'”

- An enjoyable smackdown for a newbie self-promoter over on Mouthfuls; look for their link to the poster's Chowhound dress-down as well.

- We have at Hot Sake have decided to link to Restaurant Girl, as everyone else seems to be doing it these days. Your choice - Ramsay or Klee Brasserie. Although truth be told, we are rather skeptical in light of her rewarding a “very good” to Mai House – we were VIP and still had a mostly flavorless experience.

Got some Hot Sake for us ? Send it our way, credit will be given......or not if you prefer.

Basically nothing seems worth thinking about. I haven't been up to much these days. I just don't have much to say right now. I can't be bothered with anything , but whatever.

I haven't gotten anything done today. I feel like a fog, but what can I say? I've just been letting everything wash over me lately, not that it matters. Shrug.

I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen. Whatever. Not much on my mind lately. I guess it doesn't bother me.
