The Irish Echo covered the phenomena of Europeans coming to the US to shop just last week:

http://www.irishecho.com/newspaper/story.cfm?id=18199

Interestingly, and not mentioned in the Post article, the Irish Revenue Commissioners' Office "is threatening to crack down on shoppers who bring back goods without declaring them...Under current law, shoppers can declare up to €175 ($224) worth of merchandise, after which their purchases are subject to VAT, which stands at 21 percent and additional duties ranging from 3 to 20 percent. Shoppers who do not declare additional purchases are subject to both taxation and fines."

If I had to guess, the giveusbacknewyork folks are just advertising their own ad agency (PPGH/JWT Amsterdam). For what it is worth, my Dutch friends are all over that site :)

plastic flowers would be excellent. I hope they look like the ones from those old Lego sets.

Heck, they should skip the astroturf and make the whole thing Lego-compatible.

Well, if the entire lawn at Cadman Plaza has been astroturfed, I guess plastic flowers can't be far behind.

And who among us doesn't find plastic flowers to be a nice touch in winter?
