Post Turkey Week TV: Not a lot of leftovers

A look at some noteworthy programs this week:

Theater Talk: Prime-Time Spectacular (WNET 13, Sunday, 10:30 p.m.) This Broadway interview show celebrates its 10th anniversary with an hour long prime time special.

Lincoln Center Tree Lighting 2006 (WABC 7, Monday, 5:00 p.m.) Channel 7 gives over a good chunk of their 5 p.m.newscast to this annual tree lighting. Expect some Disney corporate synergy in any performances.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (WABC 7, Tuesday, 8:00 p.m.) The annual showing of the timeless classic Peanuts cartoon.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center (WNBC 4 Wednesday 7:00 p.m.) Avoid the tourists and watch the 74th annual tree lighting festivities from the comfort of home. Al Roker and Ann Curry host the two hour event which features musical performances by Christina Aguilera, Enya, Taylor Hicks, John Legend, Martina McBride, Sarah McLachlan, and Lionel Richie.

The Souls of New York (WLIW 21, Wednesday 8:30 p.m.) This show takes a look at some of the quirky people who live and work in the city. Among those profiled this week are an Elvis impersonator, a milkman, a deli slicer; and a cue card writer.

The Kennedy Center Presents The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Celebrating Neil Simon (WLIW 21, Wednesday 9:00 p.m.) Playwright Neil Simon is celebrated as he receives the 2006 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Scrubs (WNBC 4, Thursday 9:00 p.m.) All you need to know is that the most intelligent comedy on network television starts 6th season Thursday night. If you haven’t seen the show before catch up on it in reruns - weeknights on Comedy Central at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. or on WNYW Fox 5 at Midnight and 12:30 a.m.

Moyers on America Capitol Crimes (WNET 13 Friday 9:00 p.m.) Veteran journalist Bill Moyers takes a look into the lobbyist Jack Abramoff scandal.

The French Connection (Fox Movie Channel, Saturday 8:00 p.m.) If you haven’t seen this classic 1971 movie starring Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider, you need to watch it. The story is a fictionalization of busting of a major 1960s drug by some dedicated NYPD detectives. It is best known for one of the most famous car/subway chases in ever filmed on the streets of Brooklyn. The sequel follows at 10.
