3. The Times has a short piece and a moving gallery of photos of the Ghost Bike project: "According to the Department of Transportation, 109 bicyclists were killed on city streets from 2000 through 2005, and 11 more have died this year."
4. In the last week, more than 50,000 people have used the Charmin "potty palace" in Times Square. Where were they going before? "If this wasn't here, I would have gone in the street", said one visitor.
5. Really sad: a 24-year old bartender living in Queens was found brutally murdered in her apartment on Friday: "Her Jack Russell terrier, Gucci, was dead at her side, and her body was smeared with mint green paint, which she had recently used to brighten the walls of her apartment."
6. The new must-have accessory for hipsters: puppies in winter-gear.
7. On November 4th, a tourist from Boston witnessed a man commit suicide by jumping in front of an E train. When she got back home, she discovered the victim was the son of an old friend. He "was one of 26 people to kill themselves so far this year by leaping in front of a subway train. Last year, 27 people killed themselves the same way."
