I think that what happened was stupid. There should have been no reason that police shoot at something 50 times and then still have no comment of what happened. THIS IS BULLSHIT!!! And people wonder why police don't get respect.

It is interesting that no one has thought to be more concerned about his family, his bride, his 2 kids. How many times have NYPD shot and killed a "suspect" what does that solve nothing..Nothing at all, they flat out shoot to kill, and those of you that are trying to make excuses for these police officers are flat out racist, men lie, women lie but facts & numbers do not...it shows that the NYPD have shot and killed hundreds of innocence people

I feell the cop are going to do a cover up,, i read on another news site the cops thoughts that had guns, but no guns were found. I guess they didn't have time to get they throw down out of the trunks of their police cars. NYPD are nothing more then killers

OH YES- The NYPD is hanging around strip clubs- mistaking these for strip malls... and just waiting for some half-in-the-bag innocent guys to alight at 3am AND THEN-> shoot them!! OH YEAH! It's just what the cops want to do to spark up an otherwise quiet evening on the job- because they just LOVE the aftermath of such an incident which will change their professional lives FOREVER!! Not to mention the fun stuff like: paperwork- grand jury- court appearances- deposition- TV interviews- and being vilified by that putz Sharpton! Geez- those cop sure know how to have a good time-don't they?! Pa-lease!

You're right neutralobserver, how would they explain shooting three people? Unless.....all three were reaching for their wallets. HMMMMM, five cops with guns shooting three people with no guns. and, one cop shooting 31 times. This is going to get interesting only if the public demands answers and asks the right questions. Use common sense people and don't always believe what the hacks at One police plaza tell you.

I'm a black man and the first thing I found myself thinking was "what information is there to this story that we might not know yet that could properly explain the incident." Then I read the comment before me asking "when was the last time the NYPD shot a white guy, and suddenly I realized how stupid it is for me to be sitting here trying to find an excuse for these cops. These victims were well dressed, and according to the club well-behaved... if white men in new york were in the same situation, it's hard for me to imagine them getting shot.

31 shots by one officer is a reload. He kept shooting till slide lock. No gun found is the main thing. Sounds like another Diallo. If they were Perps, what crime did they perpetrate? More misuse of tax payers money. but we can't do anything, the culture of corruption is in too deep. I remember watching a documentary on the Brooklyn bridge, they mentioned it was made 6 times stronger than necessary. They didn't mention that was because someone provided inferior steel and everything needed to be doubled up.

Sounds a little "hinky". As usual can't trust the NYC media. Watched the snippets on 5 tonight. Kelly did NOT say one individual unloaded 31 rounds (implying reload). Gotta remember NYC media is on Holday weekend staff. Still, with no shots started/returned, and the implication that the guys had at least some chance to get out of the way, 50 rounds is a little weird. How about, if the risk is the vehicle, concentrating fire on the driver & getting your ass out of the way, rather than everyone just unloading on the vehicle. Is a little selective fire out of the question? PO's won't be questioned until sequestered & counseled by the PBA/SBA/DBA. Will be off duty with pay while incident is investigated. "Perps" & families will sue the city for megabucks. Hospital bills will never get paid (report on hospital closings is due this week). Long term care for those injured will likely have to be covered by medicaid, as will the injured's kids, girlfriends, others. Sandy the lawyer will be hovering. Sounds like that, even before the court cases, all of us will be paying hundreds of thousands in taxes for both sides. And Reverend Al looks a hell of a lot better since his gastric bypass surgery, but he's still an A-hole. Reserving judgement until more details emerge Bofug

The longer the NYPD waits to comment on this, the worse things look for them. I do understand that they need to conduct an investigation into the events, but the public deserves some answers. Amadou Diallo's death was a horrible tragedy, but it's possible to imagine how the events snowballed into his senseless death. Diallo was one unarmed man, but this story is about three of them. How were all three of them shot, and when they appeared to be seated in a car, no less?
