This has been going on for years! The State, and the Federal Goverment have been "Allowing these pratices to go on turning a blind eye to the problem . Being that someone has made this news worthy they will step up enforcement now and make an example of someone in the near future . Companies will take advantage of every loophole they can . It's up to the enforcers to keep them inline . Sadly that means that we have to deal with occurrences like this one . Hopfully things will improve.

Does anyone else see the irony of this statement: The Manhattan director for OSHA decried the lax safety enforcement at construction sites, and acknowledged a connection between union presence and worker safety. The director of OSHA decried lax safety enforcement. Well, hell dude... Take a look in the mirror!
