Last Night's Action: No Surprises as Knicks Lose Again

2006_04_sknickslogo.jpg - Rockets 97, Knicks 90: The state of the Knicks is so sad that their former coach has more wins at Madson Square Garden with his new team than the Knicks' current head coach does. Jeff Van Gundy is 7-1 against the Knicks with four consecutive wins at MSG and Isiah Thomas is 1-5 at home. Yao Ming led all scorers with 26 points and Tracy McGrady added 24. Jamal Crawford led the Knicks with 25 points off the bench while Stephon Marbury had a measly three points in less than 20 minutes of play. In unbelievable news, Nate Robinson (5'9") blocked one of Yao's (7'6") shots. Despite pulling out all the stops for the Chinese basketball fans in the area (BD Wong sang the National Anthem), The Garden was not full.

- Maple Leafs 4, Islanders 2: Toronto jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first period as the Islanders ended their five game road trip with a loss. The Islanders only had 21 shots on the night, giving Toronto goalie Andrew Raycroft a relatively easy night after returning from a groin injury.

- Mets sign Alou, Pass on Glavine: In much rumored news, the Mets signed outfielder Moises Alou to a one-year $8.5 million contract with a club option for 2008. The 40 year old Alou gives the Mets a much-needed right handed bat to go along with David Wright. With the move, it doesn't look like Cliff Floyd will be returning to the team and puts the future of Lastings Milledge with the club in doubt. The Mets also declined their option on Tom Glavine as they were expected to do. While they still hope to re-sign Glavine, the 40 year-old pitcher is deciding if he will stay with the Mets or return to Atlanta.

enough is enough with the asian heritage crap when Yao comes to town. Who really wants to get pork dumplings at MSG?

On another note, David Lee is the only Knick worth watching. He's not quite worth the price of admission, but he's the only one out there hustling and making things happen.

but scott, what if the pork dumplings are delicious?? not that they would be delicious.

Keep this in mind; every time the knicks win god kills a kitten and jimmy dolan fucks a little kid to celebrate! As long as they keep losing the world will remain a relatively peaceful place.

lets hope the dolans don't fk up the beacon too.

Oh they'll screw that one up too in some way, but they will fix it up and raise the prices.

How does the song go, 'If I had a 100 million dollars...I would sign Allan Houston, no no I mean... I would buy the beacon"
