This will be an interesting experiment, "Rebuild" an area that has been runned down for decades and evict the poor folks that are currently there. Oh yes this will give those landlords the excuse they've been looking for to evict them . Which will increase the level of crime in the area the police have to deal with now . Currently it's pretty much prostitution, Drug Dealing,And some petty crimes here and there . That alone is enough for them to deal with now they want to infuse the area with an influx of money . I'll be watching this experiment .

The local groups in Hunt's Point have worked for years on this, good work! With this project moving forward, all the more reason for people to get ionvolved to stop the ill advised water park still proposed by Giuliani cronies (and con ed power plant on the island) that would stop the greenway dead on arrival at randall's island...

This is absolutely fantastic. Adolfo Carrion certainly deserves some of the credit--he's been talking about this for years. The plan was designed by Mathews Nielsen, the same design firm that did Hudson River Park.
