PlayStation 3 Robbery on Upper East Side

This might be the first PlayStation 3 robbed in the city. A man who bought a PS3 yesterday morning was stopped by a man on Third Avenue who threatened him with a silver gun. The Daily News reports that the PS3 owner, who had just purchased the game console at a store on East 86th Street, found a patrol car and the cops managed to catch the robber. It turns out the thief used a cigarette lighter as his "gun."

While some shoppers are being targeted after buying the PS3, in one instance, a would-be robber was stabbed by the PS3 owner in Indiana.

I suppose we don't have to worry about the violence in the games anymore because there'll be plenty of beatings and stabbings before we even get the f*cking console home?

Ah, the culture of consumerism: iPods, cell phones, game consoles, you name it. Sell, sell, sell!

"Attention shoppers: be sure you are armed before leaving the store with your PS3."

You see, if he brought a Wii instead of a PS3, this wouldn’t have happened.

Since Wii is half the price of PS3, even the robber could afford it.
