Playstation 3 Has Arrived...Two More Days Till Wii

Angel Parades was the first person to buy the Playstation 3 at the Sony Store in Midtown (apparently Charlie Murphy was on the scene!) while Sergio Rodriguez bought the first one at the Union Square Circuit City. Rodriquez said, "This is the best game ever. It's so worth the wait. Some people may call me crazy, but I really love to play."

We found 1010WINS' description of who was waiting: "die-hard gamers and entrepreneurs stood in lines for days." Also, this tale of capitalism was touching:

Saby Madrigal, an 18-year-old college student who worked for a month at a liquor store to save up for a PS3, stood in line outside the Union Square Circuit City for 24 hours to no avail. Still, she vowed to keep looking.

"For the work we had to do to get all the money to get the stupid system, I'm going to search every single store in town,'' she said. "I don't care, I'm going to get it.''

One woman on line in Midtown said, "I need this and I need it now. My kids won't sleep at night because they keep thinking about it. I can't go home empty-handed." That's some good parent - and we hope those kids don't demand a Christmas present!

Some people have used the days on line to actually make money: By buying a PS3 and then putting it for sale on eBay. Here are the eBay listings for PS3. Since there are supposed to be a million PS3 available by year end, we still think paying thousands for a $600 console is a ripoff. Anyway, now we wait for reports of forthcoming insanity at Toys R Us stores selling the $249 Wii.

"I need this and I need it now. My kids won't sleep at night because they keep thinking about it. I can't go home empty-handed."

Turn off your fucking television, then. That'll quell the kids long enough for you to get your priorities in order.

1. Reality
2. Food
...
39. That PlayStation 3 your kids are griping about.

okay so last night i was walking home from work at like 2am down houston street and came across a burnt up police car just sitting in the middle of houston near um 2nd avenue i think... in that area. there was another cop car sitting behind the burnt up one, with 2 coppers watching the burnt up one. i asked them what happened, and they said that there was a riot handing out those ps3 things, and that someone had set the police car on fire during this riot.

what happened? did anyone else see it? i have a bad picture on my cell phone of the car.... was what the cop said true?

please someone explain this!

This whole fiasco is so disgusting to me.

Seriosuly, couldn't we all go back to watching "Project Runway", cause that was the epitome of cool!

That guy in the photo looks like a complete and total asshat.

His dad's condom must have broke...

I won't buy one at least until Fall '07...I need my MGS fix!
