About 2 years ago, I saw a live turkey on the Bowery and Grand Street, right in front of Capitale. Cars were trying to avoid hitting it and it was a sight to be seen. I wonder what happenned to it.

Damn! That could have saved me some dough at Pathmark this Thanksgiving ! I don't think I have enough of them Pathmark points for a free Turkey . I guess I'll have to buy mine this year .

Back in the 70's, I lived on Wards Island with my family. There were many pheasants and rabbits, but I never saw a turkey or chipmunk. There were however, roving packs of wild dogs which sometimes terrorized us and may have killed my cat. A documentary would be quite interesting.

I once encountered two turkeys foraging in the flowers around the Litchfield Villa in Prospect Park. Also, while jogging around Prospect Park once I came upon a chicken running loose. The turkeys might have been wild, but somehow I think the chicken was not!

Sorry, but this sentence needed correcting. "The MTA released it to Wards Island, which, according to the AP, is inhabited by MUTANT AND RABBIES RIDDEN pheasants, rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks."

The Triborough's General Operations Manager Ray Bush said, "Watching it unfold on our cameras, it seemed the only thing missing was someone playing (the American folk song) 'Turkey in the Straw.'" No, the only thing missing is a You Tube link.
